Question Intel 13th Gen-17 13700

Hi Regards! I want to build Intel 13th Gen. New PC with i7-13700. Main works: photo editing(not heavy)Office works with so many files and keeping records. Sometimes it may require some editing work too.I want to build some good range PC instead of i5 with mid level budget.
My concern is: ASUS Prime Z790 P D4 CSM /GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS ELITE AX: Out of these 2 Mainboards which could be preferred?? Seeking reply thankfully. Kindly suggest appropriate RAM stick/sticks also up to 32 gb. Sorry! not i7-13300 but i7-13700 mistake duly corrected!!

So far as I know, there is no I7-13300 processor.
OOPS! I now see the I7-13700 in the title.
You may be thinking of the I5-13400 which is an excellent processor.
It has 6 P cores with hyperthreading as well as 4 Efficient cores.
Total 16 processing threads
The I5-13500 has 6 P cores and 8 E cores.
A next step up might be the I7-13700K with 8 P cores and 8 E cores
The difference is that the 13700K has a max turbo clock of 5.4 vs. 5.2 for the 13700. The cost diffference is about $10.


I3/i5/i7/i9 no longer designate number of cores and presence of hyperthreading.
Today, it generally designates the performance class

In any case, if budget is an issue, look at the B660 or B760 based motherboards.
The Z790 and Z690 based motherboards permit overclocking of K suffix processors. Most will not overclock, depending instead on the stock turbo mechanism for performance.

You can get DDR4 or DDR5 versions. each performs similarly, but today, DDR4 based will be cheaper.
If DDR4, 3600 speed is about right, for DDR5, look at 5000 speed.
At a given speed, lower timings perform better but cost more.
In general, intel does not depend much on fast ram for performance.

Thanks Titan! for the reply. Sorry! mistakenly written i7-13300 instead i7-13700. If I prefer i7-13700 which board shall I prefer? One of my friends suggested Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML120L RGB V2 Liquid Cooler for cpu cooling. is it OK?

I7-13700 will come with a stock cooler that will do the job.
It might get noisy under heavy load.

A 120 sized aio would do the job, but I would not recommend liquid cooling when a simple air cooler will do the job.
AIO coolers have perhaps a 5 year lifetime before the pump clogs/fails and air intrudes.

What is the make/model of your intended case?
If it has 160mm headroom, a simple tower type air cooler will be more than adequate. If you are looking for simple mounting and high quality, look at noctua NH-U12:

Titan! Regarding Case I opted 3 cases from some priced to budget range as: Phanteks Enthoo Pro ( Non-Window) Full Tower Computer Case /Cooler Master CM 590 III Black Mid Tower Cabinet/Cooler Master Force 500 (FOR-500-KKN1) ATX Cabinet.

Can I be honest? I don't see anything in your intended use that calls for i7 levels of performance. For your use, I would go with an i5, and since photo editing is the most strenuous thing you're likely to be doing, I recommend I would focus more on the drive system and making sure it's both fast enough and has some redundency built in. If you're storing photos and office records, you would see more value from a pair of 980 Pro SSD's in RAID 1 than you would see from an i7 cpu.

Thanks Letmepic....! Two 980 Pro SSD's NVMe ? You rightly said. After taking all the reviews in to consideration ,I will go for i5. Array with 2 SSDs in RAID1 level drive monitoring (Disk mirroring ) may be a better contemporary storage systems. Data Protection is assured as well Performance is enriched in RAID 1 mirroring.

Motherboard raid failure.
Ransomware.
User error.
It is for a server environment where one can not tolerate any recovery time.
Raid one does not eliminate the need for external backup of cherished data.

Thank You Titan! Due to urgent call I went out for 2 days. Sorry for the late reply. I do not know much about RAID 1 array of discs for storage. So cpu cooler Deepcool AK620 will conveniently fit in the Cabinet Master CM 590 III. NOCTUA NH-U12S & NH-U12S with NF-F12 120 mm fan not one! what is the difference in performance as well cost??
