Sorry, I am confused with that manual, if I install it in that other M.2 slot, the board will not see it at all? or it will work but only at the speed of ordinary SSD sata drive?

What are other solutions, should I go for adapter? Can this board take another NVME drive (in adapter) so that two drives work in the same time at high speed?

Is this adapter good enough?

I have Samsung NVME for boot disc. I need another fast drive, so that I can replace old mechanical sata disc.

Thanks for the info. What do you think about using adapter, is that ok solution?

Yeah I'd expect 2 full speed m2 slots from the prime model mobo, either way just get an m.2 to pcie 4x adapter if you really need the extra speed but i think you'll be fine with sata3 ssd as secondary drive.

I think you guys mis-read the specs. This could very well work.
One of M2's slot mode is dependant on which CPU is installed. It functions as NVME or SATA port as long as there isn't an AMD ATHLON installed.
And the other one is a 2 lane NVME slot as long asn PCIe slots 1_1 and 1_3 are't populated. Those are the little x1 slots.

IMO - this will work but one of the NVME drive will run at half speed, but this would still be faster then a Sata drive.
