Hello,
For a first gen Nehalem based laptop with only a 3Gpbs SATA controller, which drive would be recommended for a boot drive. Reliability over performance is key and can only afford sub $300 so looking at 120gb capacity.
Read the Toms monthly guide.
Thought Vertex 2 240GB but reviews say it will die or BSOD within the year. V2 also has crippled writes because of 64GBit chips. Vertex 3 is fast even at 3Gbps and is on sale.
Have a x25-v 40gb in a laptop already. Pretty slow drive but reliable so far, so leaning towards intel.
Samsung 470 is not available where I live and I must be able to return it so it will be purchased locally.
Question is 320 vs V3 for reliability, or something else.
