Hi, I have a 4600 integrated card inside my hp laptop and windows 10 comes out next month.

I know Windows 10 comes with DirectX 12 with should increase graphics performance, and was wondering if that update would increase my frame rate?

So there is no point upgrading to Windows 10 then? No FPS increase, but I heard windows 10 runs faster than 7 or 8. IDK what those ppl were referring to, whether it was loading times or browsing speeds.

There is some performance increase, and it is more secure to be on the most recent OS. Microsoft paid millions for strangers to find security holes in windows 10. There may be a faster boot time. The difference in performance will be more noticeable on high end GPUs. If there is a 5% performance increase, then gpus that would run at 100fps will run at 105 fps. Gpus running at 25 fps will run at 26.25 fps theoretically.

Does intel 4600 even have support for DX11? Anyway the most immediate effect from DX12 most likely cpu overhead improvement. How much improvement? That depends a lot on the hardware. But low end cpu paired with faster gpu probably seeing noticeable increase. So integrated gpu like 4600 probably will not see much difference even if the gpu have support for DX12. Also the games need to use DX12 first.
