Intel 4790K Graphics too high. Muddy picture

So I just built my first computer and it seems that the integrated graphics on my 4790k are too high like at 4096x2160 but my monitor is only 1080 So it makes the picture look muddy instead of really nice like my PS3 or Toshiba Chromebook 2 looks when connected.

Can you check your graphics resolution by right-clicking on the desktop and going to graphics properties?

How you are describing this sounds rather odd. If some how it was displaying at a resolution of 4096x2160, things wouldn't look "muddy". You would only see a small portion of the screen which would look rather blocky. Your resolution may be set really low like 800x600, which would like sort of blurry.

i set the resolution to 1080...maybe I do need to install the gpu driver....this is my first build....so i don't know everything about getting a system running from scratch...I'll try to download the drivers and see how that works.
