intel 4790k Temprature issue while doing Prime95 stress test....

Hi guys,

Today i Notice my Processor temperature going to high i run the (Real temperature v3.70 with Prime 95 Ftts small test) and it straight hit 100c which is quite high, so i reapplied thermal past and then did the benchmark again to see if its fix the problem and i got these results.

I am using,
Msi gaming 5 z97 MB.
Intel 4790k
16 GB Ram.
corsair h100i Cooler,

What you think is temp too high?
If it is then what am i missing?

Any help will be appreciated.

89C max with that stress test with the stock cooler is normal.
It equates to ~ 80C with real world loads, a cheap after market cooler would be quieter and run cooler.
You arent missing anything, the standard cooler is 'barely adequate' for an i7.
Ideally you want to run below 75, so if you plan on overclocking buy the evo 212,if not buy something cheap like this;

I would go with the evo with an i7.

Thanks for your reply you are right with stock cooler that should be alright but i am using Corsair H100i Cooler,
What do you think of it?

Apparently that might me that issue i was using prime95 v 2.87 64bit,

i will read the whole article and post my finding again.
