Question Intel 660p stopped being detected after windows update

After updating windows last night, my intel 660P 2tb NVMe game drive has stopped being detected after booting this morning.


I've checked bios, and found it wasn't detected atall, nor in device or drive management.
At this point i rolled the windows updates back, but still to no avail.

Before I reseat the drive, is there any other steps i could take to resolve this issue?


Ryzen 5 3600
MSI x570 gaming plus mobo
2x8gb corsair vengeance DDR4 3600mhz
Radeon 5700XT
Samsung 970 evo 1tb (boot drive) m.2 slot 1
2x WD blue 1tb HDD
Intel 660p 2tb (game drive) m.2 slot 2

seemed to resolve after swapping the boot drive to m.2_2 and the game drive to m.2_1


don't understand why, and I'd tried reseating the game drive twice before hand, but it seems to work now

To re-open this thread, after a restart today the drive fails to detect, same as before. Now i'm lost for answers.
