intel 7260 ac wifi card compatible with lenovo g510 laptop?

Wanted to upgrade miy Lenovo g510 laptop with intel wifi card 7260 ac but upon startup it said it was an unauthorized card. Disabled the card on BIOS startup and tried downloading drivers through intel and Lenovo but there are no drivers showing up on my device page.
Please help...running windows 8.1 64 bit with core i7

If you disabled the card in the BIOS Settings, the drivers won't install anyway because the card does not exist as far as Windows is concerned (since you've disabled it).

However, that's not the cause of your actual problem. You will have to contact your laptop manufacturer and ask them which models of WiFi card are authorised by them.
