Intel 750 PCIe SSD speed variation!?

Hi,

I installed Intel 750 PCIe SSD (400GB) on a windows 7 machine. Installed the SSD on PCIe 3.0 x16 slot 1 (Sabertooth X79 mobo)

Getting 1.7 GB/s Seq. read speeds instead of ~2.4 GB/s and only 870 MB/s write speeds.
When I use the Intel SSD toolbox, it says that the SSD is on PCIe link speed of 0x3 with negotiated PCIe link width of 0x4.

Am I missing something ? Any way to improve the performance?

System Information:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4930K CPU
BootDrive: Samsung 840 SSD
Mobo: Sabertooth X79
Graphics Card: GTX 750TI (on PCIe 3.0 x16 slot 2)

what are you trying to improve it to? Why do you think it should be faster?

Intel reports ~2.2 GB/s read speeds.
Also ran a Anvils Storage Utilites test and got lower performance compared to what was reported in a review (see the link below)
