Hello guys, I have a MB Asus Maximus Vii Ranger Z97 and my two slots PCIe 3.0 x16 red are occupied by my gtx SLI 1080.

I will lose a lot of performance by connecting an Intel SSD 750 Series 1.2TB this port PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black) ?

It will work but only achieve about half it's performance unless connected to a PCIE 3.0 slot. This is the reason why i recommended you get the 950 when it comes out.

Yes, so I'll wait for the 950. I heard this coming the PCIe 4.0, very difficult to keep up with this technology.

No. That would be PCIE 3.0 x4, not PCIE 4.0.
Regardless, it'll come in M.2 format adn your board has one such port fo this exact purpose, so you'll be all set.

The Samsung SM961 1TB is an excelelnt choice aswell and should be out faster.
