I recently built a new computer and purchased an intel 8700k and a kraken x62. I began the overclocking process just today. I just want to achieve 5.0 ghz and I looked online that the avg is 1.3v. However, I was able to go down to 1.2v. I kept going down .010 volts until this and I would run prime95 everytime just to see if it would crash. Nothing happened so did I just get lucky and got a good cpu? Can I keep going down or would be unsafe?

Solution
If you can sustain 1.2v at 5GHz on Prime95, then you have one hell of a CPU....Yes you have won the CPU lottery...I am jealous!!!! Keep going down to see where it collapses, though I would shut up shop and be very, very happy!!!
