intel 975xbx fan control?

Hello fellow citizens,

A punid question for your intelligent minds:

I have an 975xbx running a e6600 with a zalman CNPS9500 AT cooler.
How can I control the speed of the fan? I don't find anything in the bios and I would like to play around with some fan speeds. It seems its controlled automatically.

How can I do this?

Get Intel Desktop Control Center - NOT included with bundles CD. And don't use other apps that use smbios, as they will cause problems with IDCC

You'll have the option to play around with fan speed on the CPU and 3 fan sensors.

Dunno if it will work with 3rd party cooling.

Unfortunately the Intel desktop control center is sooo cool that it does not run under windows x64. So that won't work.

Anyone ANY other idea how to do this?
