Now before I get any comments on how inferior this WIFI chip is I'd like to point a few things out. One, this has been working fine for me from the start -- GTA online and CSGO to name a few.

Up to yesterday (1/21/16) everything was fine, my wifi card was working great with me having 20 or less ping on a CSGO casual server. Now, all of a sudden, I get ping spikes into the 300's, and also, when I have low ping, I get massive lag spikes, so bad that I deem it as a burden for my team and for myself. Please Help

This is the risk you take when you use wireless. It can be as simple as a neighbor got a new router. It can also be that your router was rebooted and selected a different channel that at the time seemed better but later turned out not to be....the router only selects at boot time it does not check again for better.

It is the pretty standard things to try You try different channels trying to find some bandwidth to yourself. In many cases especially for games you are better off setting the router to use only 1 20mhz channel. Your odds of finding 1 channel with no interference is much better than finding blocks of 4. 802.11ac uses 80mhz of bandwidth and there is only 180mhz total.

Since games do not need the speed.....and likely 1 20mhz channel is faster than your internet connection.... it will likely run better. Of course you fancy 802.11ac router now is running like a cheap dual band 802.11n router.

Yours is the perfect example why they say to never play games on wireless. It may work good today and fail tomorrow. Ethernet cable are practically immune to interference...especially from neighbors networks.

I heard that one person took his AC3160 card and turned it to just G mode. How can I do this? Will this really work?
How do you change to just 20mhz?

its probably the csgo servers, i keep getting lag spikes, i did a traceroute and the ping was fine until it hit the valve servers, theyve been crap since christmas. this happens on both my connections connected at wireless ac.

I don't have a n mode. All I have is a ,b ,g , ag , abg
