hey im a student and i go to this academy and we have a project(oh yeah and the class is A+) we want to build two computers based on the new processors and do you know if all those companies CAN send us those things for free if we write to those companies and we also want to benchmark them and write a report to all the companies and to make a clear benchmark and to post it on any news web site

well... we are currently trying to make that letter as professional as possible and we have to get a "permit" from the school board because we want to sell the machines to get money to go to the National competition next year and i know that im going =]!!!!

While your composing the letter, really only the company can answer your question, you could also see if you could get a sponsor to put up the money. Acknowledge their support and give them the machine when you're down. May be a local computer shop to get some exposure at your school. Bigger companies will do this as well.

oh sure yeah... im gonna tell my teacher about that joint and we have created four commitees and im involved in all of them but to write the letter

If you don't share, I'll tell your teacher about that joint. :bounce: Seriously, did you talk to anyone about getting sponsorship. If you go to the nationals, they'll at least get some local exposure. Companies are always sponsoring stuff, they get some pub and it's a tax write off. Be a lot quicker and easier than trying to get all the companies to send you stuff, not that you shouldn't pursue that as well. Schools don't like to say no to free money. Come up with the costs, can't be that much, tell potential sponsors what this is all about including the nationals and say you'll put their logo on the case and give them the machine when you're down. Play your cards right and you could have some good future projects.
