Hi guys,I have started a Thread regarding a Complete upgrade for 400$ (Pentium G3220).My friend has this Intel Atom Build with a HDD and is slow as hell.Even Booting Windows 7 32 Bit with no Auto-run on Start App,takes over 2 minutes and Google chrome takes 47 seconds to load and Google homepage takes another minute !! Man,Damn ! I will just give the spec sheet below

Intel Atom 230 1.6 GHZ
2 GB 400 Mhz RAM
Intel D945GCLF
On-board Graphics
40 GB HDD
Windows 7 Home Basic (Fully Updated Stuff like Drivers,SoftwaresWindows Updates.etc)
Zebronics PSU
Zebronics Case

He has 400$ for an Upgrade.First,He spoke to me about a Normal PC and now he is thinking of adding in a 120 GB SSD and two 2 GB 533 Mhz sticks of RAM,On this same PC.I was like 'WTF is this Shit, bro ?' !!

So,If Iupgrade the current system,Will I notice the Upgrade ? I mean will it be worth it ? Thanks

Solution
adding the ssd would make some change , but for $400 you could get a motherboard, ram ,cpu and a gpu too
24,000INR is a good budget for upgardes in that pc . you could keep that zebronics case but thier PSUs are really bad

If you upgrade the current system you will notice just speed not the overall performance as the upgrade is just of ssd and ram, as the mobo dont support modern gpu, so if you wanna change the mobo then the ram and processor should also be changed and your budget is so tight

Well,No games are played in it.So GPU won't be bought.I ran the same system with Windows XP and it was wayyy Faster even with the HDD.Chrome works good,Skype does good and even Boot up finished under 1 Minute. But I am worried that XP is dead now so if I install one,It is prone to get viruses right ? Also the Sata is a SATAII 3 GBPS Port and the SSD is a 6 GBPS one so will I be able to connect one first and is there a noticeable difference in SATA II and SATA III ?

Nope install a good antivirus like Quick Heal(recommended) or Bit defender
