Price will be a major factor. I think the Chinese are onto something with their aggressively-priced mini PCs using laptop CPUs. If only a major brand could duplicate that, it could be quite successful.

You could duplicate it yourself?

This article lists 45w CPU options. What's stopping you from simply purchasing a 45w CPU and snapping it into your motherboard's CPU socket? Both AMD and Intel have 35w/45w options easily obtained.

You could, but it's more than just slapping a 45w processor in a case. The goal is a powerful yet energy-efficient PC in a smallish case at an affordable price. In the building market, there just isn't anything like a Mac Mini or a BeeLink at $400-$600. Usually the PSU alone is 20% of that budget.
