Why does IBT run my CPU so hot?

4670k - 4.6Ghz @1.225V
Aida Max Temp= 75 C
IBT = 89 C

The clue is in the name! It's designed to push your CPU to its limits, in both performance and heat. It is unrealistic though, I much prefer AIDA.

So in essence no other realistic program will push my CPU past 89C ?
And so is my temps safe?

Not even close. The closest you will get to that is if you're encoding a video file or something similar. Even then, it most likely won't reach 75 either. If AIDA is reporting 75c under load and that's stable, I'd be happy with that for a 24/7 overclock.
