intel celeron b800 vs i3 2350m

my laptop has a intel b800 cpu is it worth upgrading to a i3-2350m because I found one that's brand newish out of a laptop going cheap and im not to sure

Upgrading a laptop CPU is not always a simple drop in replacement. Most notebook motherboards don't want a new processor, and it can be difficult to tell if it will work out- or not. The safe move is to leave well enough alone.

That being said, the Core i3 you mention has a better clock speed and cache, and should increase performance.

before you start, confirm socket compatibility rpga988b vs pga988

Read the manual before dissasembling your laptop.
Next to the heatsink and cpu are sometimes little connectors for temp monitoring and other things if you break those it wont end well, also you want to apply new thermal paste, not too much and not too little.

Check youtube for a tutorial on your model of laptop.
