At the end of the day, 4GB of RAM is fairly anemic for Windows and the processor isn't going to help things either. So unless you want to hear your son complaining that the laptop is slow all the time, I suggest putting Linux on it.My son have 6 years old, it's good for him.

My son have 6 years old, it's good for him.I'd suggest putting Linux on it if you plan on using it, like Linux Mint or Zorin OS using the xfce desktop environment.
That laptop isn't going to be useful for anything more than checking emails, writing up documents, or watching the occasional cat video.
