Please note: EVGA has not updated their motherboard downloads for this product since 2015. The Intel chipset driver available from EVGA (10.0.27.0) was released just before the release of Windows 10.

Please note: Intel's Driver & Support Assistant (Intel® DSA) does not support Intel chipset drivers.

Please note: The Chipset INF Utility available from Intel seems to only support very recent retail releases.

Is it common practice that all motherboard manufacturers provide limited support for perhaps a year or two following the release of any given product?

I encountered a host of compatibility issues following a clean installation of Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I'm trying to focus on just one issue: The Intel chipset driver for this particular motherboard.

How might I located a more recent chipset driver? Is it even necessary to look for anything more recent? I am having USB issues that I do not believe are related; however, I am also experiencing frequent reboots when trying to turn the PC off from Windows—this is the issue I am trying to resolve, now. No recommended power settings I've made have stopped the problem. This is something that never happened under Windows 7, which was previously installed. Then again, perhaps this has nothing to do with the Intel chipset? I lack the background to know.

The motherboard is listed in the title, but to avoid confusion:

• Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit
• Intel Core i7-950
• EVGA X58 131-GT-E767-TR LGA 1366 SLI3 (BIOS v83 dated 08-31-2011)
• CORSAIR Vengeance 12GB CAS 9 (triple channel DDR3)
• MSI VENTUS XS GTX 1660 Super 6GB
• Intel PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter
• FebSmart 4 Ports Superspeed 5Gbps USB 3.0 PCI Express Expansion Card
• Antec TPQ-1000 TRUEPOWER QUATTRO 1000 watt
• Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 for C:
• ASUS PB278Q 27"

"If that fails I go to device manager and in there get the hardware ID string number and start googling."

Does that work?
So far yes. But like I said it's like a dark art finding who has the drivers I have needed.

When you throw in the ID string # of the hardware / driver your looking for google will list who has it and what device it is. Than it's detective work to get, test or move on to another lead until you have the driver your happy with.

Being as your looking for drivers for the 1366 platform no matter what you do find will be dated. I run a few 1366 PC's all drivers installed on windows 11. I game everyday on a 1366 system.

It can be done. Oh and don't count on using sleep on Windows 10 or 11 the old platform does...

Something I have ran into like you said ran fine on 7 and 10 is wonky . As far as your USB daughter card try moving it to another slot. It's hit and miss with Windows 10/ 11 on a 1366 platform what slot plays nice with the added USB card. Windows 7 didn't seem to care.

As far as motherboard drivers it's becoming a dark art finding some of the older systems drivers. Most of the time windows updates has at least what make the computer function even if there outdated.

If that fails I go to device manager and in there get the hardware ID string number and start googling.

Word of wisdom when and if you do find all your drivers MAKE A BACK UP or 2. Don't count on the next time you need to go get them the same place will still have them.

One more thing most of the drivers you will find will be for windows 7 64 bit. You might find some for windows 8 64 bit as well. They work just fine on 10/11.

Thanks! I will look around.

USB 3.0, SATA, Realtek High Definition Audio, and that Intel chipset are what I'd like to have the most recent, relevant drivers for, even if they are a few years old. So long as they work under Windows 10.
