good info
anyone know anything about the mobile PIII T packaging? MMC2, MMC3, BGPGA?
voltage?
what motherboards will it require?

"The Brookdale chipset supports PC133 SDRAM, later version will support DDR-SDRAM only PC1600 memory up to 3GB's in 3 DIMM's. PC1600 has virtually the same performance as PC133 because of its high latency. "

Do we need to say more!

damn! I was just going to post that. So basically what we are saying is that Intel do not have a viable DDR solution on the horizon for P4 and to get performance they are still tied to Rambollox.

so the only benefit from the ddr-version of brookedale will be that it consumes a little less electricity and therefore produces a little less heat in your case.

so P4s getting the DDR. but even quad pumped dual channel RDRAM memory subsystem with 3.2 GB/sec bandwidth starves the P4 processor pipelines at times. considering somewhat lower transfer rates of the DDR than RDRAM would the DDR with 2.16 GB/sec satisfy the P4? The P4 really needs some more L1 cache, something of the order of 32 kbytes instead of mere 8k.

and just as i read somewhere, current DDR development is aiming for speeds of 600+ MHz.

I guess the Brookdale will be supporting the PC2100 DDR RAM.

btw there is already a chipset from VIA supporting DDR for the intel platform.

according to this article P4 and Brookdale will only support PC1600 - NOT 2100 RAM.

thats still worse for P4...
but maybe you could overclock the DDR FSB...?

with Intel's usual overhead, I'll bet it can be overclocked to use PC2100, if your processor can handle it.
440bx, 815 @ 166, need I say more?

Why do DDR or sdram support. If i were intel stick with rambus and use tuatuline for value with sdram and DDR for mainstream.Northwood and pc 1066 if you have read the two post i made
1 say that P4 cost will be reduce with 0.13 micron
2 Rimm will cost less to produce in not much time maybe a 1 or 2.
3 4 layer mobo so reduce cost again.

If they can get a 500$ price cut most will be for P4 and he seen to increase performance faster that T-bird and pal.
PAL is just faster in multimedia what he can only close the gap with P4.Office productivity has been win be P4 be not much a tiny point at anadtech with win 2000.

damn! thats gotta be annoying!
PC1600 DDR.

didnt i post something a week ago prophesising that intels first DDR chipset will be "hobbled" somehow? i even said they will probaby choose pc1600 and not pc2100 or 2400.
ack. i hate it when im right.
a P4 with fast DDR ram... that i look forward to. and i bet many customers do too.
the price of RAMBUS in this country (australia) is amazing bad still.
a little under twice the cost of generic pc2100 & cas2.5.

P4 really needs fast DDR to get sales moving.
then the price of everything will come down :)
