X99 vs Z170 pros and cons which is better with future proofing

Z170 certainly offers the better budget options. But that motherboard is for overclocking. If you are looking at budget processors then the B150, H110, or H170 boards will be cheaper alternatives.

X99 platform is for serious computing. Supported processors start at around $300 and go up to $4000.

If your on a budget, neither is a good choice. You don't need overclocking for gaming and that's what these boards are aimed at. H110 and a 6600 would be a great cost/performance ratio
