My question is, that what is the equivalent for Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz with the i3?
Is the i3 2.4 GHz fast as Core 2 Duo?

probably the i3 is faster, there were architectural improvements from C2D to i3.

Any i3 is superior to C2D. The higher models are baetter than shitty Buldozer models.
