Intel core 2 duo E7500 2.93ghz

I'm currently running my PC on this processor. While is run some games (like Dota 2 - which requires only moderate graphics - at low resolution) my CPU show over usage (Screen hangs, Explorer goes into not responding mode, almost all the processes currently running gets hanged). I like to point out I have been playing those games for like an year without any problems. This problem occurred just recently. I would like to know what causes this problem and how to fix it. (This problem may have occurred after i tried playing Watch dogs on this PC)

My System config:
Ram : 8gb DDR3 trancend
HDD: c gate 500 gb
Graphics card: G-force gt 640 zotac
Motherboard: Intel DG43RK (LGA775).
Processor : Intel core 2 duo E7500 2.93ghz

My CPU usage it shows as 100% when I run watchdogs and 87% on Dota 2.

maybe your system is overheating
blow away all the dust and make sure you have a real good cooling solution
