Hello I bought a used Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz 1333 FSB Processor from a my friend. I brought the processor to a computer shop and told them to test if it is working. They tested and said it isn't. I am confused but I can't sure if they told the truth. My friend never lies to me and one of my best friends. He also shown me that the processor is working by showing it in his PC's Device Manager , BIOS and that's why I bought it. I brought it to a computer shop because my current Motherboard (Intel DG965OT Micro - ATX Board) isn't support that and I wanted to buy a new G31 Motherboard and install this Processor in it. I can't determine why they told me it is not working...... Please help me to find what happened for it not to work.

Who do you trust more? Your friend who showed you it was working before you bought it or a random guy at a shop that likely wanted to sell you a replacement.
I guess its possible it was damaged after it was removed from the system. How has it been stored since its removal from your friends system?

Isn't there anyway I can check if this Processor working without installing physically in a motherboard? :-(
