Intel Core 2 Duo e8400 to i5 2500k "Problem"

So I had the e8400 which was a dual core and just upgraded to the i5 2500k yesterday. When I go into task manager to set the CPU Affinity it says I only have two cores, "CPU 0" "CPU 1". Wondering if this is normal or if somehow the other cores are locked? I mean it works, I can play games and everything but wondering why it says that.

what motherboard have you got?
maybe it does not support a quad core CPU?

there are options in BIOS to enable Cores marked as "Enable 1", "Enable 2" and "Enable All" atleast in my H67 it's like that. Get into BIOS and check for this type of an option. Enable all.

that's a perferfect chipset for you cpu. did my earlier suggestion work?

Well I went into the BIOS and it said all cores unlock, all are active at 4.2 ghz

Like I said everything is working fine, just not sure why it says I have only 2 cores in the task manager

Did you reimage your computer when you swapped out the CPU?

when you buy a copy of windows 7. do repair install.
