[SOLVED] Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 with GT 710 2GB Low fps?

So my intel core 2 duo with my new GT 710 2GB, i get fps drops on everygame but with my old gpu 9600 GT get me some decent fps? Isnt the GT 710 much powerful than the 9600? or am i getting some bottleneck?

Wouldn't be the psu. Just simply the 710 is only there to add ports, not designed for gaming. 7 is the gen number and 10 is the tier in that gen. It goes on from there to 20/30, 50, 60, 70 then 80. ie GTX750/750Ti would whoop the 9600GT but PSU might be an issue running 750Ti, or at least find one not requiring a 6pin pcie plug. 9600GT is slightly better than the 710 im afraid.

Could go a GT 1030 if you couldn't find a second hand 750/750Ti. Careful buying cards from used market, plenty of fakes out there, usually originating from China.

Not really. GT 710 is a low GPU, and they perform similar with 9600 GT. Upgrade the old GPU to low GPU is not worth it. At least GT 730 DDR5 or higher.

Don't let the age or model numbers of gpus fool you.

The gt 710 tops out at 15.26 Texture and is only 3.816 Pixel versus the gt 9600 which is 20.8 Texture and 10.4 Pixel--much faster card overall:

The next step up would be to a gtx series card like the evga 750ti sc, which is basically twice as fast as the gt 9600 and uses just the same power:

Also, the e8600 may not be the best choice for gaming since additional cores are needed for the os to keep it from interrupting the cpu. If you have any type of stuttering (or start to), start eyeing the q9650 or it's lga775 xeon equivalents (and not the fake garbage from china either).

It will, 750ti is powerfull enough for E8600. At least you need Core 2 quad to reduce the bottleneck.
And you need minimum 350W PSU.

I actually want to know what gpu is best for the E8600 that is a bit powerful enough than the 9600 GT and i also don't want to buy a new PSU because like i said i don't have that much money but i just want to play small games like valorant. Yeah, it should be.

I wouldn't worry about bottlenecking--that's like worrying about balancing the brakes and engine on a car--one will always be more powerful than the other.

That being said, I would NOT go with the GT 730--it's actually based on the same GT 710 design, so same drawbacks. Go with a used evga 750Ti sc for $40 and be happy.
