Intel core 2 extreme qx9750

Solution
according to http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ASRock/G41M-VS3.html that board can handle 130w TDP
the highest Intel Core 2 Quad listed is Q9650 no Dual Quad 2 cores extreme listed.
since the board reports the Q9650 as a good cpu to use on that board and that is a 95W CPU, chances are the QX9650 will work on it.
but there isn't much of a difference on power between the two to be honest I would go with known working and they aren't expensive...

Not listed as either supported by that motherboard or something that Intel makes?

Perhaps the QX9770 or QX9775? Still not supported, but those do exist. My guess would be the motherboard is only rated at 95W and the extreme parts exceed that, by a lot.

Fastest chip listed as supported is Q9650.

Honestly, probably easier to just go up a few generations and pick up a used i7 that will outperform these.
