Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66 Ghz to 3.2 Ghz

Hello, using SetFSB I managed to get a stable 3.2 Ghz OC on my Q6700 without voltage tweaking. I have a few questions and concerns on the safety of this overclock.

What is the % of improvement that I will see with an Asus Hd 7870 DirectCU II (none Top) with this overclock, as opposed to the default?

Using HWmonitor my Core temps hardly went up by 5 c on average and run at about 50 c MAX, how is it possible that my OTP406 was able to handle the heat with a regular fan and heatsink?

How long do you think my CPU will last with a constant OC of 3.2 Ghz?

I raised my Bus Speed to 320 Mhz from 260 Mhz without changing my Voltage, should I be worried?

My Rated FSB is running at 1280 Mhz and my Voltage is 1.275, should I lower my Overclock for safety?

Best CPU/ Motherboard Temperature measuring program?

Thank you for helping a newbie. ;)

SetFSB resets my Overclock whenever I shutdown my computer and I occasionally get blue screen when the OC is higher than 3.0 Ghz. This is really lame.

I would still like the answers to those questions, though.

32 ghz is a fine 24/7 oc th voltage you ave used is not that high so if itis stable keep it like it is,at 3.2 ghz a core 2 quad can have a phenom II 965 BE pretty easily aha, iv had a q6600 at 3.8 ghz before loved it

If you have the G0(zero) version of the Q6600 3.2 MHz should be easy. I have mine at 3.2 for the past two years with no issues.

If you have a diff version you may have to add some volts to get it higher than 2.8 GHz.

The CPU at 3.0 GHz should not be a bottleneck on most games. BF3 on ultra with a 6950 2 MB and Q6600 @ 3.2. My GUP runs 99% and the CPU runs 60%.

Thanks, guys. Yes, I'm pretty sure it is the G0 version but Q6700 and not Q6600.

Now... what about the answers to the other questions? ;)

Yes, the voltage is fine, as i said its pretty low, as long as your cpu is not passing about 65 reguarly it will last a long time.

If you're getting bluescreens over 3.0GHz and your temperatures are fine, I'd start increasing the voltage and check stability with tools like Prime95, OCCT, or IntelBurnTest. It's pretty typical for a bad overclock appear to be working under a light load but cause crashes/etc under stress.

I did mention that my motherboard is an OTP406, so my BIOS is locked. Any alternatives, without messing with the hardware?

65 c? Yeah, it's around 35 c at 3.2 Ghz, which I find very strange. I only use a typical fan with a heatsink, so that doesn't make much sense. I think it's because of the cooling gel that I put on the CPU over a month ago. Oh, and it's around 16 - 18 c in my room, and I cleaned out most of the dust from the case.
