will the 8th generation processors from Intel work/run on older Windows 10 builds such as build 1507 to 1703?

Thank you in advance for the answer.

Solution

Yes, it will boot up and install.
And then, very shortly after, it will start to update itself to the newest. v1803.
Same bandwidth consumed.

hey bro, i am about to purchase my new rig tomorrow and i am afraid that windows 10 will not run or install on my new rig as i have an old windows 10 bootable flash drive. download speed is abysmal in my country and i cannot afford to download another installer.

can i clarify if it will boot or install using my new 8th gen processor?

Thanks

If download speeds are that bad, how did you keep Windows up-to-date on your old rig?

Anyways - it's just an OS. Install it and see how it works. It's not going to damage the hardware in any way. Worst case is plan B. You'll need to create/download a newer build.
