Hi, I am looking into upgrading my current system (purchased in March, 2016), which has the following specs:

Motherboard: MSI B150A Gaming Pro
Processor: Intel Core i3 6100
Memory: Corsair ValueSelect 16gb DDR4 2133mHz
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ White
Graphics Card: MSI GTX 1060 Gaming 6G

I am currently severely bottle-necked by my processor, with inconsistent frame-times and stuttering, which make multiplayer gaming unfair basically. Battlefield V and Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War are virtually unplayable at any setting, especially in large scale maps.

Hence, I am looking at upgrading my motherboard and processor to the following:

Motherboard: ASUS Prime B460 Plus
(https://www.scanmalta.com/shop/cata...0-ddr4-dual-m-2-atx-motherboard/category/165/)

Processor: Intel Core i5 10500
(https://www.scanmalta.com/shop/cata...et-lake-3-1ghz-4-5ghz-s1200-cpu/category/238/)

I game at 1080p and am happy with 60FPS.
Is it wise to upgrade to these components, while retaining my GPU, RAM and PSU?
I am mostly worried about RAM speed, which is 2133mHz but seems to be supported nonetheless.

Many thanks for your time and help!

B460 is better than H410.It has 4DIMM slots, more pci slots, better ram speed posibilities, better VRM's,more fan connectors, more SATA connectors, but cant overclock. And in my opinion,if you are not overclocking, you dont need good VRM's (u can get away with a decent air cooler),if you are running only 1 gpu,you dont need to have 2 pcie slots (sli/crossfire is dead anyway),if you dont plan on going with 4 ram sticks, you dont need 4 slots, intel doesnt benefit so much from faster ram,so u will be fine with 2133mhz ram (capacity is way more important than speed),more fan connectors and SATA is important, both B460 and H410 have m.2 slots. For me B460 is just H410 on steroids, and unless u need all the features of b460,you can go with H410.I must...
intel doesnt benefit nearly as much as ryzen when it comes to ram.If we are talking about 2133 vs 3200mhz,with intel you will see 2% fps increase, with ryzen u will see 20-30% increase.the 10500 is a good cpu which performs similar to ryzen 5 3600 XT.Any reason to go b460 and not h410?

Thank you for your reply. The reason for B460 over H410 is that the only H410 motherboard in stock at my nearby retailer (Scan Computers) is Micro-ATX and I'd much rather a full-sized motherboard.

Are there any particular downsides to B460 vs. H410 (I was under the impression that B-series is higher-spec than H-series)?

In that case, since I have 4x 4gb RAM sticks, I'll go for B460 over the mATX H410. Otherwise, there is an MSI Z490 board for about 40 EUR more. The price jump to Z490 isn't a lot, but then again I will not be availing myself of the overclocking features since I'm going with a non-K SKU and DDR4 2133mHz memory, so it would be a waste, in my opinion.
