I have a better answer. The i5 2400 beats the Athlon 860k all around. Far as the sockets, LGA 1155 and FM2+ both offer really the same features depending on board model and both are dead ends far as future options. Based on price I would actually go with a used i5 2500 and board off ebay. It will price about the same as the 860k option and be noticably better. If your wondering about overclocking the 860k I wouldnt bank on it being a deal breaker. They usually only oc to 4.4 maybe 4.5ghz on a good board if your lucky. Issue being even at 4.5ghz it doesn't improve performance much. I know this because I have an 860k and have run several tests compairing stock vs oc.
