I was thinking about getting this CPU, I feel like its pretty good but I want a second opinion or if any of you have had some experience with it. I really wanna play game like counter strike with better fps and DayZ. I can play counter strike just fine but my fps really dips sometimes, and I'm pretty sure DayZ is pretty CPU intense so I'm not sure if this is the best choice. I also can play DayZ at okay fps but it's not the greatest, or if you can link me an even better one that would be great. Right now I have the AMD A10-6800k with intergrated graphics. Can you explain the difference between the two CPU's and how much of a performance difference I will get.

I'm just looking for options because I'm pretty sure my CPU right now is garbage so I'm really trying to upgrade. Thanks.

A i5-6600k is considered the CPU that is the most that you need for gaming. I have it and it can run any game on the market. Plays BF1 at a smooth 60+ FPS. Overall just a GREAT gaming CPU (and so much better than that APU).

BUT

I see you don't have a GPU. For gaming I would suggest getting a i3-6100 and a GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti. It would perform much better.

I do have a a graphics card, sorry didn't fully say anything about my rig but I have a R9 270 or 260, don't really remember.
Is there a way you can keep your os on something so I don't have to buy a full clean copy of windows

Will I be able to download windows 10 online once I get the new mother board? or will I have to buy a new copy.
Is there a way I can save it to a flash drive or something and transfer it?

Also what is a good motherboard, I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, so I need that to go with the motherboard.

If you bought a windows license key when you got your first pc then you can just use that key when you change motherboard on the new one. If not an if you dont have a windows key. youll have to buy a new one. No way around it.

the hyper 212 is a cooler that fits most cpus an motherboards.
But here is a good motherboard.
