Intel Core i5 8500 3.0 Ghz. Is this any good?

Hello there,
I was wondering Intel core i5 8500 3.0 if it's a good CPU for it's price point?
Is it ok for 2018 Gaming? 1080p only

Answer is No if it’s just for gaming,

For work, it is due to some of its new security features.

Yes, it’s slightly faster than 8400 which is the best budget gaming cpu at sub 200 segment, it’s new, so it should have those spectre / meltdown addressed on hardware level.

Both cpu when paired with a 1060, should handle all 1080p 60fps on high/ultra

The money you saved can be used towards an after market cooler, which will help control the cpu temp.

xD I don't know how but I got that processor like 10 days ago From a reputable shop. It was available there from few some days.

I am currently using it with gtx 960 will upgrade it to gtx 1070 in few days. Will 1070 bottleneck 8500 tho?

It will not, 8th Gen i5 are very powerful, it does not bottleneck your 1070 or 1080 or 1080ti for that matter.
