[SOLVED] Intel Core i5 8500 vs AMD Ryzen 5 2600

Hello .
If you should compare Core i5 8500 vs. Ryzen 5 2600, which one has the advantages and what's the more appropriate? The price is the same (Intel with iGPU = Rice price + GPU around 2tis).
I'm compiling a PC for work usage (electrotechnics - Eagle, Multisim, in the future LabView, ...) + quality FHD tracking and more films, ... and I need to help decide between these CPUs.

Intel's CPU prices are currently very high and have no logic. In some stores we find that the I5-8500 has a price higher than the I5-8600 or even the I5-8600K.

In I5-8600 it is approximately the same as the Ryzen 5 2600 and its normal price is similar. In the majority of users (who use the PC for games) the fact that I5-8500 has igpu is not relevant because, anyway, they must buy a powerful GPU.

In your case, you do not need a powerful GPU, if the prices were normal Intel would be the choice because you save buying the GPU. But in the current case, the price difference is so high that it makes up for buying a Ryzen + GPU.

Even weaker gpu like the GT 1030 or RX 550 are better than the Intel IGPU. In fact I could even put a GTX 750 TI second hand.

Given that I5-8500 only exceeds Ryzen 5 2600 in games, and you want it for other objectives, my advice is clear, go for the Ryzen.

In the case of wanting to go to Intel, I recommend that you see the prices of the higher CPUs I5-8600 I5-8600k or I7-8700 since they can be very similar to the I5-8500.

It is a correct motherboard. Just make sure you have the connectors you need. The differences between the mobo of a price similar to this one are very small. Only if you wanted to make a strong overclock would you need a high quality motherboard.

In the same way the graphics GT 1030 are very similar to each other. There are no significant differences.

I’d stick with the 2600 over the 2600x. No real gain for the extra money. The 2600 will suit you well for your needs. I would swap the 240gb M.2 drive for a 500gb Sata SSD. You will notice the lack of storage much sooner than you will any difference in speed when SSD’s are already so much faster than HDD’s.
