[SOLVED] Intel core i5 8600k high idle temps? ~38c

Hi,

I've installed a new cooler today. Cryorig H7.
The temps I get worry me a bit.

The CPU idles at ~38c. Under load (CINEBENCH R15 Extreme). It got to 66c.

I am not sure if these temps are healthy.
Would reapplying thermal paste help?

Which case and motherboard do you have?
Those temps are fine.
You could try changing the fan speed curve to increasing the fan performance, thus lowering temps a bit.

Case is cooler master n400 and the motherboard Z370 gaming plus

Could it be that I put too little of thermal paste?

Your'e fine, those temps are well within normal ranges.

Here's the nominal operating range for Core temperature:

Core temperatures above 85°C are not recommended.

Core temperatures below 80°C are ideal.
