[SOLVED] INTEL Core i5-9400F or AMD Ryzen 5 3600

Hello, its time for me to upgrade my pc, and the parts that are in dire need of upgrading is my CPU with a new motherboard and ram. i was wondering based on gaming perspective + general use. Which cpu the Intel core i5-9400f vs the AMD ryzen 5 3600 would be a better choice. Also is how much performance difference is there between the ryzen 5 3600 and the ryzen 7 3700x.

I would 100% pick the ryzen 5 3600, it has dubble the threads of an I5 9400f, this will make most games faster but also your system in general. The difference between the ryzen 5 3600 and ryzen 7 3700x is pretty small in games. Your system may be just a bit faster but doing stuff like video editting is noticable between these two. If you just want to game, I would just pick a ryzen 5 3600.

Intel's 10th-gen is launching next week, the i5-10400 will be 6c12t too. I'd wait to see how those turn out.

The 10600K seems to be the new updated 8700K....6c/12t

It will be interesting to see this price segment 'slug it out' in gaming comparisons, as the 3600 is pretty strong.
