Intel core i5 or upgrade to ryzen

So I have a system with a pentium 3258, 8gb of ram and a gtx 960. I was wondering what the consensus would be of doing a full system upgrade to Ryzen 5/7 or just finding a Haswell i5/i7 floating around on amazon thanks for any responses!

AMD Ryzen CPU's are just close to or on par with haswell I5's. if you want a more modern computer all around i would go with the ryzen build though or a 6th or 7th gen I5 build
