News Intel Core i7-1195G7 'Tiger Lake Refresh': Early Test Results

I generally feel that gunning for the top end chip in a laptop is a waste of money. On paper, they always sounds fast. But depending on the cooling solution used, its more likely we see these high end mobile processors running no faster than a CPU that is lower end. So most are paying more just to have a "faster" processor that in reality isn't. Especially when we are looking at just clock speed difference.

If you want fast mobile chip, only AMD. Intel can't make cpu that can fit in 25W nor with 14nm, nor with 10nm. For the same thermal output you get double speed with AMD compared to Intel.

Exactly. I don’t have any use for a chip that’s only good for single threaded performance. My workloads are demanding and gaming is a complete waste of money especially with prices and availability of parts the way they are

AMD only for me. Anyone tells me they have an Intel processor and I am extremely unimpressed and think what a waste of money
