Intel Core i7-4790k or AMD FX-8320E - Which is better?

OF COURSE THE i7 4790k is better,If you only going to game tough AMD FX-8320E is an ok budget processor.

You should buy what you can afford.,But I'd suggest getting a Nice Graphics card(200$+) before blowing all your money on a sweet processor like the i7 4790k.

As a i7 4790k owner i love playing games like Starcraft 2 at ultra settings and only using 4-9% of the CPU(the cpu is overkill for gaming),But i only like the speed of rending videos...I never owned a AMD FX-8320 but all processors will get the job done of whatever task you give it...But each CPU will take longer/less to complete the tasks so you have to decide time/money.

i had the original 8320 overclocked to 4.6ghz temps were fantastic especially at that overclock. I recently sold it and got the 4790k and at stock speeds with turbo boost absolutely destroys the 8320 on synthetic benchmarks. i absolutely love the 4790k and highly doubt id go back to the 8320.But its ultimately up to you and what you are looking for. i also think the 4790k is complete overkill if its for just normal day to day use. if its an option go for the 8350 with a great motherboard(sabertooth 990fx) a good cooler and overclock the hell out of it

414.99 vs 174.99 at newegg?
speed intel
price amd
it about what are you using it for.
if you want to game with it. use the money on the video card not the cpu.
if you are using it to watch TV/web/ms office go for something even cheaper.
if you don't care about money go for the i7

i7. i recently upgraded from the 8350 to the 4790k. While the 8350 seemed to handle normal tasks in windows extremely well, for gaming +multitasking, the i7 cant be beat. NOTE - this is not to say that the 8350 wasnt up to the task, because it was. I never have regretted buying in... back in 2012.

If money is a concern, still go with the i7. invest in the CPU and motherboard now, upgrade your RAM and gpu later. x86 really doesnt have much room left to grow, so getting the best now is the way to go. GPU still have a lot of headroom to grow, so getting a decent one now, and upgrading to the next great thing a year from now will be the best investment.
