Intel core I7 7700K under-performing or being bottle necked ?

Recently just upgraded my system to Intel core I7 7700K from a 4790K, ran 3D Mark Firestrike test, there wasnt really any performance difference, while the physics score was 2000 more, overall it was the same. Could my GTX 770 bottlenecking the new cpu ?, I have a 1070 coming this week so I should be able to compare, was wondering what peoples thoughts were.

Those cpus are pretty close in performance. So no surprise there.

I'd have skipped cpu upgrade altogether and put that money into gpu upgrade (or something else).

Well you did say the physics score was 2000 more, but that won't make much difference in your overall gaming performance when the 4790K was already more than enough to run your GTX 770 at full throttle.

Yeah the GPU is bottlenecking the CPU most defiantly.

You will see a larger difference once you get the GTX 1070.

Even the RX 480 will bottleneck the I7 7700K, I know because I have one and did the benchmarks before I got my GTX 1080.

Wanted to update to a better mobo so could have ddr4 so would also need a new cpu
