Intel Core i7-870 and SABERTOOTH Z77??!!

Does my i7-870 work with this motherboard? Cuz i don't want to buy it and then use it as a table...?

No, the processor is lga1156 whilst the motherboard is lga1155, which is a slightly different socket. The reason for the change was a change in the power supply on the motherboard which helped make the next generation processors more power efficient.
