Intel core2 duo processors Eseries or Intel Pentium processorsT4300

I am looking to buy a new laptop and am confused firstly between Intel Core2 duo processors and Intel Dual core processors ?

The laptop that I have shortlisted has Intel Pentium Processor T4300 . http://www.sony.co.in/product/vpccw12en
Is it way inferior to Intel Core2 Duos and/or Intel Dual Cores or is it the same as Intel Dual core processors ? I am confused from the performance point of view .

Do you mean Pentium dual core? It is inferior, but not greatly, the modern ones are based on the same architecture as C2D. the rest of the specs will probably make more of a difference.

Don't get that VIAO.

Get a Dell Studiio 15 laptop.
For the same Price you're getting an i3 processor which is better than that Core 2 Duo.
