Intel CPU fan making high pitched noise

Just got my new processer today and installed it along with the stock fan. When I started playing GTA 5 the fan started running a little bit harder (as usual) with no unusual noise, but when I started to play Arma 2 OA, the fan started to make an unusual high pitched noise. The second I would alt tab to the desktop though, the sound would go away, even though the game was still running in the background. What is going on?

You have a faulty stock fan, it's rare but it happens.
Get an after market fan.

Thanks. Good thing I still have my h55, I just need thermal paste. Any thermal paste recommendations?
