So I'm trying to reinstall my CPU fan but these 4 push pins just won't click in when I push on them.. The fan stays in place even if I shake it but I'm pretty sure it's still not enough unless the push pins click.. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and why they don't go all the way. Please help!!!

Solution
Well, if you dare, you could try booting the machine with the cooler somewhat installed, just be careful not to let it run for too long. Watch the temps, either with bios or a program in windows, just to see if the cooler maybe seated correctly, and you just got one that doesn't click.
Otherwise I'd say, take out the mobo and mount the cpu cooler outside of the case.
You've probably already tried it, but try wiggle the pins around while pushing them down.
Otherwise, have you checked whether the black pin in the middle, is getting trhough to the other side of the motherboard, while you're installing it?

I kept the motherboard in the case because I didn't feel like reinstalling al, the cables etc so I can't see the black pin when I insert the CPU fan in. Before I apply the pressure on the push pins I wiggle them around to see if they're in the hole and they are.. The arrow is pointing outward and not towards the CPU fan so I'm doing everything right? Maybe I just need to press harder but I'm scared I'll break something

Hmm.. Well I know that Intel stock coolers can be somewhat of a "challenge" to install sometimes. But it should certainly not be this hard. Is any of the white 'flippers' (The things around the black pins, don't quite know what to call them) bend over and can't go into the place?
Otherwise you're doing it right, nothing there. Maybe just try apply more pressure, but be careful. There's no reason to break anything.

The "white flippers" don't look bent to me.. And they fit into the holes just fine but the black one doesn't want to go all the way. /:

The CPU fan looks like it is in place and doesn't move or anything but everywhere I read they say you need to hear the click sound which I have before on other computers but on here.. Nope
