Intel CPU question

Should I get the i5 6500 now or the i5 4690k now? I can't overclock the 4690k till later since I can't afford a z board that can overclock and a cooler.

the performance is almost identical the only advantage is you could oc with the 4690k however since you cant get a z board i would get the 6500 so you can upgrade down the road

Wait until you can afford what you want. There's been very little progress in the last 5 years that hasn't been overcome by overclocking.
