Intel CPU Switch

So I have an Intel core i3-4160.
My motherboard is an Asrock H97 Anniversary.
So here is my question.

I am building my friend a budget pc, and just got his motherboard in the mail today (Gigabyte
H81M-H).
I was wondering if I can switch my i3 into his build, as I buy a new i7 for myself.

So to bring this whole thread together, i ask if my i3 will "work" in his motherboard including the motherboard chip set difference.

then yes they both have the same socket of 1150 they will work

yup this is the exact words of the site i linked to in my last response,

Support for Intel Core i7 processors/Intel Core i5 processors/Intel Core i3 processors/Intel Pentium processors/Intel Celeron processors in the LGA1150 package

Just because they share the same socket does not mean any old processor will work. You should always check the CPU Support List for a given motherboard to verify a processor is supported.
