No, to protect against losing one of the largest display makers, which protects against a sudden drop in supply, which protects against a sudden increase in PC prices. Which would hurt companies like Intel and Dell. Not every article relates to Apple.

Hopefully, those investments goes into good use, what IGZO technology from SHARP bring is something that will greatly benefit PC users, especially for productive tasks or just gaming enthusiast. Can't wait to see 4K monitors in 27-32" monitors.
