Hi, I have an old DQ965GF Motherboard with a Core 2 Duo E6600 that I am trying to piece together (one of our computers crashed yesterday) and I am trying to install Windows 10. But when I boot to the USB, I get a black screen with the Blue Logo and some spinning dots. I have had this screen up for an hour or so and no changes. One time I left it running longer and it actually went to just a black screen. Should I take the GPU and some of the RAM out? I am also trying to install on a Intel SSD. Do I need to use a DVD instead of a USB 2.0? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Solution
Yes, when you mixed the RAM, like your RAM have different timing, there is a 50-50% chance you will get problem.

You may try to manually to set the timing to 6-6-6-18 in the BIOS first by using the 6-6-6-18, saving and exit, shutdown the PC, then install the 5-5-5-18 RAM set to see you can boot the PC up.

Looks like 3rd time was a charm! I finally received the setup screen. Currently installing, hopefully everything goes well. As for the RAM, I currently have 4 - 2GB DDR2 800MHz double-sided sticks in. The only difference is 2 are 5-5-5-18 and 2 are 6-6-6-18, is this going to cause any issues?

Solution
It looks like I was able to get Windows 10 installed with the additional RAM and GPU installed. I just need to be patient. Now hopefully I can find all the drivers! I don't know why but Windows 10 seemed like it took forever to install, right around 6 hours or so. I have never had this issue with previous Windows versions before. But anyways it's up and running now. Thanks for you help cin19!
