For many hours now I have been struggling in as many ways possible so far as to trying to get my wireless adaptor to work. So far I have been stuck using ethernet. I have windows 7 64 on a k53sv asus and iv been tryingto download the actual drivers for it from both intel and anything in relative to the card it's self. So far all I keep getting is bluetooth devices to work but in the device manager the only thing there is the network controler stuck unusable. I'v took it out and stuck it back in, uninstalled and re installed the drivers repeatedly. 2 of which for some reason didnt WANT to be installed because it said this software can not be installed on this system (from both asus and from advanced system optimizer 3 driver updater) windows update isn't helping either. I had this working on the same laptop before! I must have found the right driver to get it to work before but that was a while ago. Does anyone know THE driver I need to download and install for the wireless adapter part of this device to work so that I can connect to the internet wirelessly?

Hey, Darren, im not sure if you got your adapter working but try to download the software and drivers from this https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24862/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Windows-7-
Make sure to download the Wireless_17.16.0_s64.exe as it has the software and drivers.
If that doesn't work, try to update the original drivers and software itself by using the Device Manager and looking up the data on the CD.

Hi Poptart555, thanks for getting back to me. I finally got it to work by: reinstalling the old PCIe card, restarted the computer; uninstalling and removing the driver of the old card, along with the driver for the Lan Ethernet; shut down the computer; reinstall the Intel AC 7260 and install the Intel driver... Somehow that got the Intel AC 7260 working.

Thank you again.

Ok got this card today and had the same issue no wifi but the blue tooth works fine. I tried the intel drivers about 5 times and saw your post and I now have a fix! Some systems that had a older wireless card use a on off controller switch on the keyboard and intels drivers don't work with this. So these drivers I downloaded are a stand a lone. Meaning that the cool switch to turn off your wifi wont work anymore but the card will after installing and rebooting. During download it asks for you to pick from 3 check boxes what you want to install select the 1st and the 3rd. the 2nd is not needed and just adds another startup program. good luck
